Challenge.

Bupa is a leading Australian health insurance provider. They wanted a video to use across their social media channels, and to sit as featured content in their online video repository, The Blue Room. 

 

Tasked with capturing the emotional story of a family’s premature baby arriving at just 25 weeks, Fizz Farm was faced with several juicy challenges during the production: an interstate shoot, delicate subject matter, a small space in which to film, a father whose availability was limited due to shift work, not to mention the classic showbiz challenge that, as the saying goes, one should never do — working with very young children!

 

Due to the powerful impact of the footage captured, Bupa ended up requesting additional edits, and delivery in various formats, of various sizes and resolutions — an additional challenge Fizz Farm was able to meet due to shooting the content at high resolution 4K format.

Solution.

The Fizz Farm crew were able to film gentle, “fly-on-the-wall” documentary-style footage of the happy family, along with carefully crafted “talking heads” interviews, to shape the sensitive story.

Filming the family on location at their home in Brisbane provided an authentic view of satisfied, supported clients, without the Bupa brand being ov
erly dominant in the piece. Instead the brand is embedded subtly within the context of the story, and the focus is held on the people at the heart of this very human tale.
 

Despite being based in Melbourne, Fizz Farm have a trusted network of talented crew all over the country, so were able to assemble a crack team in Brisbane that were well-suited to the job. Editing and post-production took place in Melbourne, with Fizz Farm also animating the end logo and tagline for the campaign.

Result.

Fizz Farm produced a powerful series of content for a variety of platforms. The original 2.5 minute video was distributed via social media channels and the Bupa Blue Room video repository. Additional 30 second cinema and television commercials were created from the original footage, extending the campaign’s reach. Plus, the 4K shooting format enabled us to seamlessly convert footage from landscape to portrait, in order to create content for public, street-facing screens.

 

The original video has generated more than 300,000 views, and is a great success story for Bupa, enhancing their brand awareness by sharing a truly emotive story.
